Corcadorca are very pleased to announce their upcoming residency with the Triskel Arts Centre. Founded in 1978 and housed on Tobin Street in the centre of Cork city, Triskel is dedicated to the promotion and presentation of contemporary arts. Following its refurbishment, Corcadorca is looking forward to collaborating with them in 2011.
In Development
Following on from a one week
workshop in January, Peter Gowen's play, The Chronicles of Oggle, will
be developed for a further week this September. The play was
workshopped with actor Frank McCafferty for a week in January. We held
a public reading of the play at the end of the week in Cork, and then
another in Limerick, as part of the Belltable Arts Centre Unfringed
Festival.
Corcadorca have just completed a workshop of Request Programme, by Franz Kroetz, in July. A one woman character study without dialogue, the play centres around a woman's return to her apartment after work, and the mundane activities that have become the epicentre of her life - until she reaches a more interesting conclusion.
In April Corcadorca began a two week workshop of the play The Cinders,
a play by Carmel Winters, with the actors Aishling O' Sullivan, Derbhle
Crotty, Maria MacDermottroe, Catherine Walsh, Ruth Bradley and
Sebastian Thommen. On the final day of the workshop at The Granary, we
held a public reading of the work followed by a Q&A session. The final play to be workshopped in Corcadorca's development programme for 2010 will be Gulliver's Travels later this Autumn.
