Venue: Guys Building, Cornmarket Street, Cork A WORKSHOP PRODUCTION devised by the cast Directed by Pat Kiernan
Cast Julie Kelleher Ed Malone Lorraine Nolan Jenny Rogers Carmel Furlong Fionn Groeger Michelle Ford Frank Prendergast Diarmuid Fehily Peter O'Brien Corcadorca Theatre Company presented "Love" as part of the Woodford Bourne Cork Midsummer Festival 2003. This newly devised site-specific workshop production took place in the disused Guys building on Cornmarket Street in the heart of Cork city. Love was developed over a 4 week rehearsal period with a cast of 11 local actors who hadn't worked professionally before. This was the sole criterion for taking part in the Corcadorca workshop. Corcadorca's Artistic Director Pat Kiernan, worked with a professional production team, directing "Love", which involved a 15 strong cast of local actors setting out on their professional careers. This original new work began with just the title and the building. The promenade production was based on the theme of LOVE so tenderness, kissing, caring, sharing, jealousy, bitterness, fighting, cheesy pop songs, promises, plans, introductions and goodbyes all played a part.
"It's derelict and ramshackle inside but director Pat Kiernan and the creative and confessional cast of eleven have made it their Pandora's Box. Love has the feeling of Quentin Tarentino let loose in the jacks at Chandras (remember that place?) with a hand held camera" Evening Echo
" Corcadorca has made a habit of making the venue the star of the show" Evening Echo
