Directed by Pat Kiernan

Cast
Kevin Flood - Sonnie
Maire Hastings - Nonnie

Invariably unconventional in the choice of location in which to stage their
productions, Corcadorca Theatre Company, once again, brought audiences to an unlikely theatrical setting. The disused IAWS Warehouse on Cork's Albert Quay, was the venue for their production, "SNAP" by Ger Bourke, which opened on September 22nd 2003 before transferring to the Dublin Fringe Festival the following October.

Snap is a two act play with two actors. It is based in rural Ireland and covers the married life of Sonny and Nonnie, spanning fifty years from the 1950's to the present day. It is a portrayal of "life as it is" for many unheard voices trapped in the cycle of social and domestic violence. It moves at times from hilarious fun to poignant sadness and succeeds in giving us one distinct and individual view of Ireland.

Ger Bourke was the winner of the 2000 Corcadorca Playwright Award for his play "Banshee Makers" which was produced by the company and attracted critical acclaim with The Irish Theatre Magazine commenting that "Corcadorca succeeded in bringing a confident and engaging new voice to Irish audiences."

Snap had a period of development over two years which included a workshop with director Pat Kiernan and Dramaturg Jocelyn Clarke. Having successfully workshopped "SNAP" earlier in 2003, the play was cast with Kevin Flood taking the part of Sonny and Maire Hastings as Nonie.

" What has emerged from this process becomes, in the grip of Hastings and Flood, a play packed with resonance. Their work is faultless, powerful, professional"
