  • "Congratulations for giving Cork the wonderful opportunity to experience off-site theatre. I attended Victor Frankenstein on Saturday evening last and can honestly say it was wonderful. Sets, colour, acting , music - everything was magical and it was great to feel part of it all.
Well done to everyone involved and Thank You." Anne O'Connor

  • Congratulations on The Merchant of Venice production. It is the best performance I have seen at any theatre in a long time. The feedback from all those I know who were lucky to attend is fantastic. Well done to all those involved and a special credit to those who were involved in distributing tickets, guiding the show through the various venues and were really the hardest of workers. I look forward to seeing many more of your shows and will hope for luck in the lottery for tickets for The Devils Larder but anyway thank you for a lovely evening.
    Deirdre O'Brien

  • I would just like to pass on my thanks for an utterly brilliant show of the 'The Devils Larder' on Thursday night last....The cast were utterly professional and thorough in the detail of the characters and scenes portrayed. One word encapsulates the performance - magical !!
Many thanks, hope to see another production like this sometime with Corcadorca and/or Grid Iron and all of the acting cast - and a great show for the Cork city of culture 2005.
    Cheers, Paul O'Mahony

  • I went to see the production of 'What Bloodied Man is that?' last night with a couple of friends. I enjoyed it immensely, as did my companions - the rain even seemed fitting.
    Regards
    Mark Slattery

  • Just a note to say how much I enjoyed The Merchant of Venice. It was great!
    Yours sincerely,
    Mary Dorgan

  • Just a quick mail to thank you for what is truly my highlight of Cork 2005 to date. Both my friends and I were in awe of how you managed such a logistically challenging production (The Merchant of Venice) seamlessly. The use of locations was also exceptional and the icing on thisalready delightful cake (if you'll pardon the cliche) was the cast.... Shylock, Portia et al - WOW.
Congrats to all the crew and cast for what a most memorable experience, yet again Corcadorca have raised the bar - until the next one!

  • I was at 'What Bloodied Man is that?' on Saturday night and it was excellent, I'm not a theatre buff but I really enjoyed it.
    Thank you.
    Kind regards
    Kevin
P.S The fort setting was really neat as well, wouldn't it be swell to establish an open air summer theatre series there.

  • "Le mot francais est spectacle but thank you sincerely for a spectacular spectacle(Victor Frankenstein) on our Grand Parade last evening. It was truly magnificent. I enjoyed it beyond words, Keep up the tremendous work."
    Hugh O Donovan

  • I just wanted to thank you for allowing me the chance to win the tickets to The Merchant of Venice though I was from the states and not from Ireland. Also, I wanted to congratulate you on a fantastic production and a great success!! We were so fortunate to see the play on the 15th and were enthralled. Now that I'm back home in New Orleans, I have told everyone about your outstanding performances. My husband and I watched the movie version with Al Pacino last night and thought Jerzy Gralek's portrayal of Shylock far superior. Thanks again for allowing us to share your great production-it was a highlight of our trip to Ireland.
    Ellen and David Waller

  • Well done on Victor Frankenstein - even the street was a star. Loved the music.
    All the best,
    Evelyn Grant
  • Attended The Merchant of Venice this week. Excellent production, performances and organisation. Difficult to select highlights ... the courtroom scene was wonderful and the setting at St Francis Church impressive.
    Congratulations to everyone involved!
    Ann Egan

  • My boyfriend and I saw Victor Frankenstein whilst in Cork last week. We thought it was absolutely fantastic. My boyfriend who is a drummer was really impressed with the band, the drummer in particular and his vocals and wanted to know if it possible to get hold of the soundtrack to the show?
    Jenny Howitt

  • Thanks for The Merchant of Venice. The performance was an amazing experience and the support team needs to be commended as well.
Well done for the relocation programme as a whole.
    Stephane Bruchet

  • Really enjoyed The Merchant of Venice - deffo. the highlight of 2005 so far.
    Thanks,
    Eoghan O'Shea

  • I was lucky enough to have seen Victor Frankenstein and The Merchant of Venice and was very impressed with both. Thank you so much for bringing the real Culture to Cork, it was a very memorable evening on both occasions. I hope that some of these will be shown on TV in the near future so that more can appreciate the great work that was done.
    Thanks again,
    Ann Marie Norton

  • The production of Victor Frankenstein was tremendous - we need more magic moments like this in Cork City and County!
    Sincerely
    Peggy Sue Amison

  • 'Relocation' has been my main highlight of Cork 2005. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see The Devils Larder but I did see the other 3 shows.
'What Bloodied Man is that?', apart from getting drenched wet, which towards the end of the play actually added to the atmosphere and tone of the play, was excellent, the location was just perfect for the play and the cast were outstanding (especially in such bad weather).
'Victor Frankenstein' great location in the grand parade, loved the music and energy that the play had to offer. The moving stages were a bit off putting but obviously made sense as the play went on. It was great.
'The Merchant of Venice' - this was my favourite, I thought it was an outstanding performance from all the cast. The locations were great, I loved it. Portia was excellent - well done all! I look forward to more interesting and exciting performances for ye.
    Aoife Duggan

  • I have to write and thank you all for a thoroughly enjoyable night of theatre (The Merchant of Venice) last night 14/06/05. We had 4, fourteen year old's with us who have studied the play at school. They were absolutely gobsmacked and will never forget the experience that was the court room scene at mid-night. All of your actors are truly wonderful, but we would love to know who they are. Some of us thought that we recognised some of them, even the children amongst us. Thanks again- keep up the good work and keep it coming.
    Cáit Watkins

  • The Merchant of Venice was terrific and I can't thank you enough for making our attendance possible. That night is one that we all still talk about! We were rushing to make the curtain and got there with only a few minutes to spare. I was the most excited about going but after the play all of us raved about the presentation and agreed it was a high point of our trip! I have fallen in love with Ireland and its' people. Thanks again for your generous and gracious assistance in getting the tickets.
    Thank you
    John W Woodward, Georgia, USA

  • I was lucky enough to get a ticket for last night's performance of The Merchant of Venice and want to congratulate you on a great show. The acting was superb and being in the open air certainly added some magic. We got drowned to the skin but didn't care, as it was a privilege to be there. Thanks for all the hard work and I hope the Company gets the recognition it deserves. Go n-éirí libh!

Merchant of Venice
  • First things first, this production was really, really good. I urge you, no, I exhort you, if you don't have a ticket already to beg, borrow, scrounge or steal one.

  • I saw it last night and it truly was outstanding. I wasn't expecting much but was shocked at the quality of the production.

  • ... fantastic, made it seem like I was there!

  • Aces! Aces all round.

  • Late coming in with this response but anyhoo.. i got a ticket 'off the cuff' as someone else couldn't go. i thought it "interesting" just to go & see it as i went to Victor Frankenstein and was pleasantly surprised by it. i don't give a fig about shakespeare and had never read/studied The Merchant of Venice. I was absolutely bowled over, near fanatical about it. I went to see it again waiting in the ticketless hopefuls queue (and got in..just about!). both nights were clear (feckin midges) and the yellow passes didn't bother me at all.

  • I thought that the production was outstanding and the casting of Shylock & Portia were very strong and impassioned. lads, we're talking crusty shakespeare here. I was most surprised that i went away clearly understanding the characters and the plot and being entertained along the way. Portia's comic timing was superb in my opinion. The set of portia's palace was befitting her and the warm, cosy atmosphere created on entering the second warehouse/theatre was inspiring as it was really fuzzy-warm and complete (not just an 'oh i see what they're trying to do here') and made you drop any guard & relax somewhat. Shylock was awesome and the nameless actor really threw himself into the character without reservation, It didn't come across as acting but more living the part. I kid ye not. I thought the knife was going to slice up Antonio it got that tense in the courtroom (and I was watching it from the outside). The procession from the courthouse to the church was also emotive.

  • I could praise it loads more but I think you get the picture. Anyone who didn't see it I think missed a very special production indeed. I look forward to more of the same but somehow this one will stay in my memory as a milestone

  • Looks like some people are really showing Cork in a good light. Well done Corcadorca.

  • And it had to be said - well done Cork 2005 for commissioning and funding Corcadorca to put on the Relocation programme over the summer.....
