Teatr Biuro Podrozy Present: What Bloodied Man is That?
Relocation kicks off with Teatr Biuro Podrozy's 'What Bloodied Man is That?'. Poland's most experimental and exciting theatre company, Teatr Biuro Podrozy is an unforgettable phenomenon, a rare breed of individuals who literally live and breathe theatre. They have travelled all over the world, in fact their name means Travel Agency Theatre. Their most famous production 'Carmen Funebre', described as "stunning" and "genuinely terrifying" took the world by storm, going on to win a slew of awards.
Teatr Biuro immediately felt the Elizabeth Fort to be the perfect location for their Relocation show. Commanding magnificent panoramic views of Cork this carefully restored historical building boasts a chequered past. First built during the reign of Elizabeth I it served as a prison and police barracks; a mustering point for British soldiers during the American War of Independence and for the Black and Tans in the 1920's. The Fort was used by the Republicans during the Civil War who burnt it down rather than hand it over to the Free State. Now carefully restored to its former glory the Elizabeth Fort is about to enjoy a completely different rejuvenation, this time in the hands of Teatr Biuro Podrozy. Combining exceptional circus skills with perfect craftsmanship these experts of transformation will employ stilts, fire, water, lights, powerful music and a spectacular moving set to create 'What Bloodied Man is That?'. Directly inspired by the Elizabeth Fort Teatr Biuro Podrozy will treat us to an incredible show which they promise will be "an unforgettable experience for the audiences of Cork."
