Grid Iron Present: The Devil's Larder
Grid Iron brings Relocation to a simmering close with 'The Devil's Larder', a lusty look at one of everyone's favourite subjects — food. Grid Iron are a Scottish powerhouse, an Edinburgh-based multi-award winning theatre company with a tremendous reputation for creating high-quality, high profile shows in unusual locations. 'The Devil's Larder' will guide the audience through the dark underbelly of culinary desire in an intimate promenade deep within a city kitchen. With a company of actors drawn from Grid Iron's regular collaborators and guest artists from Ireland, 'The Devil's Larder' will wind a sinuous and treacherous path from narrative episodes to story-telling, from installation to song. This is not the first time Grid Iron focus on food, their last food-inspired production 'Fermentation' had critics raving, prompting the Guardian to exclaim "Another thrillingly intelligent site-specific production. . .an astonishing piece of theatre. . .food, fire and sexuality collide magically again and again. . .every detail is perfect, each performance is extraordinary. . .a spell-binding show."
"Utterly convincing and utterly brilliant- I'd run away and join Grid Iron tomorrow".
The Irish Times.
"Astonishing theatre. Every detail is perfect, each performance is extraordinary".
The Guardian.
